After years and years of it being on the bookshelves, I have finally read Bridget Jones Diary. What a big pile of tosh. The character is great, as is her narrative - very funny and something most women can relate to. But the plot was the most pointless dance around I've ever suffered. Uck. Working Title were taking a big risk when they made Bridget Jones II - they were lucky to have scraped together one decent movie from the material provided. The movie I feel, by the by, is far superior to the book - a rarity in book-film adaptations, with more interesting plot lines, and thankfully emliminating the more irritating parts of the book. (Like her mother's criminal escapades - for fucks sake!)
I don't think I'll bother reading Edge of Reason somehow.
