Weirdness in the extreme then today. Surreal and nasty weirdness. Arrived in at London Waterloo this morning around 9.30am to find the entire tube closed due to a "power failure". I know they lie to avoid panic, but seriously - surely it would've been better to tell us there were explosions going on so that I could've turned my ass around and gone straight back to Twickenham. Instead I walked my ass right into Soho, got into the office and turned on the computer to read about a series of frickin explosions all over the place. And that all transport in and out of London was frozen. So a number of hours of sitting and listening as the thing developed from my laptop. So far, the fatalities seem minimal (certainly in the grand scale of terrorist attacks) - the worst incidencies seem to be the people stuck underground at Kings Cross and the bus near Russell Square. It was more weird than I can explain being stuck in the middle of it all, and yet not seeing a sign of it other than lots of sirens and an eerie lack of buses. Unreal, completely.
Anyway - I'm fine, and so far everyone I know and care about is fine. But it is nastiness indeed. Londoners seem to be portraying their stiff-upper-lip mentality excellently well, but I think the shock of this may not have sunk in yet.

Pissy pissy day.
