So, how've I been keeping busy whilst the Chees'm is jaunting around Edinburgh?
Well, up until the weekend it was mostly junk food and a distinct lack of household cleanliness. However, effort is slowly being made to become self-sufficient and self-entertaining. An older play got a bit of a rewrite, and the prep for next thing is pretty much finished now. The next thing is a bit of a task - it's been working up a while, and there's a lot of material already, which I find slows things down tremendously - however, usually the end result is better. Birthday Greetings was written pretty much over a weekend after having the idea earlier that week - and while the play is enjoyable and fun, its lack of development does show. Problem is, after they've been written it takes a long time before you can come back to them and have the required fiddle. So perhaps, in the long run, that process is even slower. We'll see. It's an important one this next one - and the issues are too serious for me to just shimmy over them. It could either be the best thing I've written, or the worst. Again, we'll see.
Also there was some movie rental mania. (Blockbuster's 3 for 2 offer is gonna be majorly exploited this month). Alexander = snoooooooooooooooooze. My God was that movie dull. And Alexander was more whiney all star high school quarterback than son of Zeus. Terrible performance from Colin Farrell there. The Prince & Me = yes, I know I shoud've known better, but there's a crap sentimental slush part of me that loves cutesy romantic comedies. For God's Sake, I love "Ever After" - even with it's shitty accents. It's got Dougray Scott in it - it'll do. But anyway, Prince & Me is the lowest of the low for crappy romantic comedy, and not ever Julia (10 Things I Hate About You) Stiles could save it. Ah well.
Redeeming rental of the week though goes to Hotel Rwanda. This movie is a must must must see - if not just so you get a damned important history lesson about the crapness that is western society, then just watch it for the brilliant performances and the amazing true story that it concerns. Subtly and beautifully done.

I've also been trying to do DIY Yoga. I.e. have crappy Geri Halliwell tape and try copying it rather than forking out money and time at local gym. Yes, it's slow. Yes, it's annoying listening to Geri butt into the Yoga Lady's instructions, but hell - it's better than not doing it at all. And since Chees'm isn't around to point and laugh as I get stuck in stupid positions, now is the perfect time.

Mind you, my free time is going to be majorly snipped as of Wednesday - new job time. Big studio stuff, with me probably dealing with the Art Department invoices only. And if that sounds easy, you should see how many invoices those buggers troop out on a movie this size. Anyway - it'll be good for me to try out this environment. Plus it's only a short contract. Mind you, inside sources have already told me there's an utter Troll-Girl working, who apparently already hates me. Cause I'm new. And cause of the boss I've been working for. Riiiiiiiight. Bitch alert on high then. Anyway - there's another guy there she also hates - so we can team up and eat lunch together while the others glare at us. Oooh, it'll be like being back at school. Excellent.
